What makes a good tradie?

Tradies are an integral part of the construction process. Too often the importance of how professional they are can be overlooked in the daunting process of renovating or building. We have compiled a list of the qualities that separate excellent tradies from the rest, and what you should look out for.

1. MOST IMPORTANTLY: THEY ARE FULLY QUALIFIED AND LICENSED
High quality of work comes from licenses and superior skills. Look out for years of experience.

2. PEOPLE RECOMMEND THEM
Professional tradies with a great background will be happy to share their clients testimonies and experiences. Being able to contact their happy clients and ask them directly would be even better.
3. THEY’RE PLEASANT, EASY TO GET ALONG WITH
Tradies should never be exempt from having exceptional manners, a professional attitude, and having appropriate presentation. They should always respect your needs as a client and listen to your goals and expectations for the job.

4. SAFETY IS NOT AN OPTION
A good tradie is fully aware of the safety requirements of his/her job and takes active measures to minimise risk.

5. THEY’RE ON TIME
Making sure that everything runs to schedule is key to seeing your project completed well. Disruptions to your life are kept at a minimum when tradies actually show up at the job site on time, every time.
